Rates shown are for the general Vehicle Industry RS&R employee classification (vehicle technicians/mechanics, levels 1 to tradesperson level 2) — this award's roadhouse/driveway attendant, vehicle salesperson and driver classifications use different pay structures (including flat per-day amounts for salespeople) and are not modelled here.

Casual loading interaction
Casual employees under the Vehicle Repair Award get a 25% casual loading on their base hourly rate, in exchange for not receiving paid annual leave, personal/carer's leave or notice of termination. That loading generally stacks additively on top of weekend and public holiday penalties — e.g. a Sunday penalty of 200% for full-time staff becomes 225% for casuals under this award.
