Hospitality Award penalty rate multipliers
Multipliers apply to your OWN base hourly rate (find it on the Fair Work pay guide for your classification) — they are not full wage tables.

|---|---|---|
| Saturday | 125% | 150% |
| Sunday | 150% | 175% |
| Public holiday | 225% | 250% |
| Evening (Mon–Fri, 7pm–midnight) | Base + $2.95/hr | Base + $2.95/hr |
| Night work (Mon–Fri, midnight–7am) | Base + $4.42/hr | Base + $4.42/hr |
| Overtime — Mon–Fri, first 2 hours | 150% | 150% |
| Overtime — Mon–Fri, after 2 hours | 200% | 200% |
| Overtime — Saturday & Sunday | 200% | 200% |
Casual loading is not paid on top of overtime rates — casual overtime equals the full-time/part-time overtime rate.
Evening and night loadings are flat cents-per-hour add-ons set by the award, not percentages of the base rate.
Public holiday worked in exchange for a day off in lieu or annual leave, and Christmas Day falling on a non-declared-public-holiday Saturday/Sunday, are paid at the ordinary Saturday rate (125%) instead of the public holiday rate — not modelled separately here.
Casual loading interaction
Casual employees under the Hospitality Award get a 25% casual loading on their base hourly rate, in exchange for not receiving paid annual leave, personal/carer's leave or notice of termination. That loading generally stacks additively on top of weekend and public holiday penalties — e.g. a Sunday penalty of 150% for full-time staff becomes 175% for casuals under this award.
Check the notes in the table above — some awards (Hospitality, Restaurant) pay casuals the SAME overtime rate as full-time/part-time staff, with no extra casual loading stacked on overtime specifically.
