This award covers this site's Social and Community Services employee classification specifically — Crisis Accommodation, Family Day Care and Home Care employees are covered by the same award but on different pay scales, not modelled here.
Social and Community Services classifications carried transitional Equal Remuneration Order (ERO) payments through to 1 December 2020; current rates already fold in the final ERO-adjusted rate.
Casual loading interaction
Casual employees under the SCHADS Award get a 25% casual loading on their base hourly rate, in exchange for not receiving paid annual leave, personal/carer's leave or notice of termination. That loading generally stacks additively on top of weekend and public holiday penalties — e.g. a Sunday penalty of 200% for full-time staff becomes 225% for casuals under this award.
Check the notes in the table above — some awards (Hospitality, Restaurant) pay casuals the SAME overtime rate as full-time/part-time staff, with no extra casual loading stacked on overtime specifically.
