Rates shown are for the general Support Services employee classification (levels 1–9) — this award's dental assistant, pathology collector and Health Professional employee streams use different classification scales and are not modelled here.
Saturday and Sunday pay the SAME loading under this award (150% full-time / 175% casual) — there is no additional Sunday-specific premium.
Saturday, Sunday and public-holiday loadings stack additively for casuals (full-time rate + 25 percentage points), but overtime is calculated as the full-time overtime rate × the 1.25 casual-loading factor.
Casual loading interaction
Casual employees under the Health Professionals Award get a 25% casual loading on their base hourly rate, in exchange for not receiving paid annual leave, personal/carer's leave or notice of termination. That loading generally stacks additively on top of weekend and public holiday penalties — e.g. a Sunday penalty of 150% for full-time staff becomes 175% for casuals under this award.
Check the notes in the table above — some awards (Hospitality, Restaurant) pay casuals the SAME overtime rate as full-time/part-time staff, with no extra casual loading stacked on overtime specifically.
