Metro vs Regional areas
Metropolitan Perth includes the Perth Statistical Division, roughly from Two Rocks in the north to Rockingham in the south, and east to the hills.
Regional WA includes everywhere else - Mandurah, Bunbury, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, and all other areas outside metro Perth.
Eligibility requirements
- You must be 18 years or older
- Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Never owned residential property in Australia (including investment)
- Buying the property to live in (not investment)
- Move in within 12 months of settlement
- Live there as your principal residence for at least 6 continuous months
First Home Owner Grant (FHOG)
WA also offers a $10,000 First Home Owner Grant for new homes valued under $750,000 (or $1,000,000 for land and building contracts). This is separate from the stamp duty concession.
