What's changing?

The Australian Government legislated a staged reduction to the second marginal tax bracket for resident individuals. The rate applying to taxable income between $18,201 and $45,000 drops from 16% in 2025-26 to 15% in 2026-27, then to 14% in 2027-28. All other brackets remain unchanged. For a $275,000 salary, this reduces the base tax on the first $45,000 of taxable income each year, flowing through to a lower total tax and higher take-home pay.
