A modelled return, not a “best account” claim

The Consumer Data Standards distinguish base deposit rates from bonus and introductory adjustments. This explorer applies that arithmetic, but it does not decide that you have satisfied free-text behavioural conditions. Compare both the conditional and base-rate-only views before relying on the estimate.

The ranking excludes business-labelled, tailored and per-tier products, and it does not invent missing boundaries or fees. Always check the provider page for the current rate, withdrawal rules, linked-account requirements, deposit protection and complete fee schedule.

Savings account rate explorer FAQs

What data does the savings account explorer use?
It uses public Consumer Data Right product-reference records published by Australian banking providers. It does not request consent or access your identity, accounts, balances or transactions.
How is the modelled savings rate calculated?
The explorer starts with one published variable or floating base rate that matches your opening balance. If conditional rates are enabled, it adds no more than one matching bonus, bundle bonus or introductory adjustment. The Consumer Data Standards define these adjustments as additions to a base rate.
Does the explorer guarantee that I will receive a bonus rate?
No. Bonus conditions can require deposits, balance growth, purchases, limited withdrawals, a linked account or other actions. The explorer displays the published condition where available, but you must confirm that you can satisfy every current provider term.
What does the one-year net figure include?
It estimates monthly interest on your starting balance and planned monthly deposits, deducts tax at your selected marginal rate, then deducts identifiable fixed account, service or management fees with a clear monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annual frequency. Transaction, event and unclear optional fees are not modelled.
Why are some tiered products missing?
Rates marked as applying separately to each balance tier are excluded from this first version. Treating a per-tier rate as if it applied to the whole balance can materially overstate interest, so the explorer leaves those products out rather than guessing.
