Frequently asked questions
Is there one salary scale for every APS agency?
No. APS agencies set salary points through their own enterprise agreements. This calculator uses the Australian Public Service Commission agency agreement, so check your agency agreement before relying on the base salary.
When do these APSC salaries apply?
The selected base salaries are the amounts shown in Attachment A of the APSC Enterprise Agreement from 12 March 2026.
Does the take-home estimate include HELP?
Yes, when selected. It also includes estimated resident income tax after LITO and the Medicare levy for 2026-27.
Why is APS1.1 not listed?
The agreement publishes $52,000 for APS1.1 from the 2024 commencement date but leaves the 2025 and 2026 columns blank. The calculator only lists pay points with an explicit 2026 salary.
