What is the Age Pension assets test threshold in 2026?
From 1 July 2026, the normal full-rate threshold is $333,000 for a single homeowner and $499,000 combined for a homeowner couple. Non-homeowners have higher thresholds.
How much does Age Pension reduce under the assets test?
The normal pension reduces by $3 per fortnight for every $1,000 of assessable assets above the applicable full-rate threshold. For a couple, this is the combined reduction across both payments.
What is the Age Pension assets cut-off in 2026?
From 1 July 2026, the normal cut-off is $733,500 for a single homeowner and $1,102,500 combined for a homeowner couple. Higher cut-offs apply to non-homeowners and illness-separated couples.
Does my home count in the Age Pension assets test?
Your principal home is generally exempt, but being a homeowner changes the assets threshold. Other real estate, vehicles, contents, financial investments and accessible superannuation may count.
Is the assets-test result my final Age Pension?
No. Services Australia also calculates the income-test result and generally pays whichever amount is lower, subject to age, residence and other qualification rules.
